IJ Morris at Star of David of the Palm Beaches is the only Jewish funeral home in the northern part of Palm Beach County. We are honored to serve the residents of West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens and surrounding areas.

Our funeral directors have more than 15 years of experience each. Because they specialize in serving the Jewish community, they understand the customs and religious significance associated with Jewish funeral traditions. Starting with the shomer (customary watching over the body) and the tahara (washing ritual), we will help you observe all the steps of a traditional Jewish funeral or memorial service. We can arrange a catered shiva, with both kosher and non-kosher foods, at either our chapel or your own home. We will also help incorporate your family's specific rituals into a service if you desire.

Whether your loved one was Orthodox, Conservative or Reformed, our team designs a ceremony that reflects the life being celebrated.

Our inviting funeral chapel

IJ Morris at Star of David of the Palm Beaches has a beautiful chapel for funeral and memorial services. This inviting space, with wood floors and tones of cream and white, has an eternal flame and a rendering of the 23rd Psalm. It seats up to 200 people and is often chosen instead of a graveside service, since Florida weather can obviously be hot and sticky.

Personalized services and memorials

Though we are very experienced at traditional funerals, our team also creates personalized funerals. This can mean anything from adding a small touch—such as golf decor for the funeral of an avid golfer—to an elaborate customized event with live music, favorite foods, a full bar and a send-off that reflects the personality and passions of your loved one. We start with your stories to uncover the things your loved one really cared about, and then we design a celebration like no other.

Cremations

The funeral home does not have an on-site crematory but we do arrange cremations. We can walk you through the process and suggest ways to honor a loved one with a funeral or memorial service. For example, you can have a loved one present at a funeral and then have the cremation performed afterward, or you could have a cremation before the service and an urn present at a memorial ceremony. Star of David Cemetery of the Palm Beaches

Star of David Cemetery of the Palm Beaches is a beautiful property in West Palm Beach. Located in an upscale neighborhood with a golf course, we are, in fact, the only cemetery in Palm Beach Gardens. The memorial park has the tropical landscape of the Everglades with an open feel and palm trees throughout the grounds. The team at Star of David Cemetery works tirelessly to maintain the property.

Most of the people we serve are Jewish, but we are happy and honored to serve people of all faiths. Many synagogues in the surrounding communities have designated gardens in the cemetery.

Variety of burial choices in a beautiful setting

At Star of David Cemetery, there are many options for a final resting place. Our 26 acres hold a wide selection of choices, including traditional ground burial, mausoleum entombment and cremation options, including columbaria and niches. There are 7 community mausoleums. Mount Hebron is perhaps our most beautiful community mausoleum with a total of 160 crypts.

Private options

We understand that many families prefer private burial areas. The Joseph Estates are hedged areas that hold up to 8 burials. Garden of Sarah is another hedged estate area that can be adjusted and developed based on the number of burial plots purchased. Families who wish to be entombed together can work with our architectural designer to build a private mausoleum.

Coordination with cemeteries in the U.S. and Israel

West Palm Beach is home to many transient residents, “snowbirds” who move south to escape the harsh winters of the northern parts of the United States. You can rest assured that the funeral home will seamlessly coordinate with the cemetery of your choice, and in many cases, we know those cemetery teams already. We promise that we will see everything through to the very last detail.
